The DABS Product Locator is the official starting point for finding products carried through Utah’s state system. It is most useful when you search carefully and remember that retail availability can change.

Step-by-step
- Open the official DABS Product Locator.
- Search by a distinctive part of the brand or expression name.
- Compare every similar result rather than selecting the first familiar name.
- Verify the bottle size and CSC product number.
- Open the applicable product result and review the stores shown.
- Check the store’s hours with the DABS store finder.
- If the trip is significant, confirm directly with the store before leaving.
Why searches can be confusing
One brand may have several expressions, sizes, batches or packaging variations. A search can also surface discontinued, limited, trial, allocated or special-order listings. The product name alone may not establish that two listings represent the same bottle.
Use these fields together:
- Exact product name
- Size
- CSC number
- Status code
- Store location
What the locator does not establish
- That a bottle will remain available until you arrive
- That an allocated product can be purchased through the normal daily process
- That similarly named releases are interchangeable
- That a national product is actively sold in Utah merely because the brand exists elsewhere
- That an old or discontinued listing represents continuing statewide distribution
Product Locator and The Back Shelf
The official locator answers the Utah inventory question. The Back Shelf Bottle Finder answers the bottle-identity question. When both are available, compare the exact expression, size and supporting facts rather than relying on brand name alone.
The Back Shelf does not overwrite a bottle’s national identity with temporary Utah availability. A bottle can exist nationally while remaining unknown, unavailable or time-sensitive in Utah.
If you cannot find the bottle
- Try a shorter brand or expression name.
- Check spelling and remove punctuation.
- Review the official product list and status codes.
- Determine whether the item is allocated or rare.
- If it is not listed and is not allocated, investigate the Special Order Program.
